The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) was established by the Federal Government in 2011 to expand access to quality tertiary education in Nigeria, especially to the catchment areas, the host community and other parts of North-Central Nigeria. The University commenced academic activities in 2012; and it currently offers twenty-nine (29) academic programmes in five (5) faculties; has a student population of about 9000 students and has just initiated a phased movement to the permanent site at Felele.
